I’m Out Here in Miami: The Ultimate Girls’ Trip
This was THE girls’ trip you didn’t want to miss! Sun, sea, yachts, a special birthday, what more could you want? By the end of the trip, I had fallen in love with Miami, but mostly I loved all the fun my girls and I had together. Keep reading to find out what made our trip that much more special!
LGA –> MIA
To say that our trip started off on a bad foot was an understatement. Our flight was pushed back three times; we didn’t end up taking off until almost 10pm when we were originally supposed to leave around 7:30pm! Even before we made it on to the plane, the security line was hellish. Hungry, tired, and a full itinerary ahead of us when we landed didn’t give us a lot of energy to get excited to arrive in the 305. However, after a solid nap, a few kicks from crying toddlers, and some boxed margaritas, we more than refreshed for a fun night and even more exciting few days!
It’s Reyin’s World and I’m Just Living in It
The first thing we did when we arrived at our AirBnB was drop our bags and eat. I’ve never tasted a burger and fries as good as the ones we had after that airport ordeal. I mean, the place was literally called Burger & Shakes, it couldn’t have been bad. Good food and good vibes were only made better when our best friend and Miami native, Reyin Jasmine pulled up with heaps of luggage and her signature giggle! It was her birthday weekend and after months of not seeing each other, this trip was a much needed reunion. So, to kick the trip off right, we glammed up and headed to Mr. Jones. Let me tell you something, I was NOT ready for the craze of Miami nightclubs. BBLs, confetti guns, floating contraptions, sparklers! I’m pretty sure I was in a state of shock all night. It was the perfect start to an even more hectic and chaotic trip!
In true girls’ trip fashion, we just HAD to sit poolside to get a tan in before anything else. For Reyin’s birthday, she hosted a party at Strawberry Moon Pool, which is adorably pink! With a live DJ, poolside beverage and food service, this was a perfect place to chill after a full day of travel! Beware, though, this place fills up fast with parties and hotel guests. As the sun began to set on our pink poolside day, we headed out to get some quick eats and a shower! Our AirBnB was so conveniently located in the heart of Miami Beach, just off Collins Ave., so getting to and from events and activities was something we never had to stress about! I absolutely recommend looking into some of the boutique hotels and AirBnB that may not give you as lux a stay as some others but show out in proximity to some of Miami’s premier clubs, beaches, and activities.
And They Were Girls Together
It helps to have friends in high places, and Reyin has plenty of those! The plan for our weekend was loose. We were going off vibes, literally. So, when a good friend of Reyin’s called us up to join him on a 90 foot yacht, we were all for it! After a scramble to get primped and preened before heading to the Marina, we found ourselves on shuttle boat with four other girls who didn’t speak an ounce of English. We didn’t speak any Spanish, so again, running on good vibes only. Can you see a pattern here? Our favorite meet-n-greet, however, was Doobie! He was the sweetest Staffy puppy that was teething but had the CUTEST little waddle. When we made it to the yacht, we were welcomed by CeCe, our stewardess who quickly became one of the girls! Sitting on that boat in the sun, water surrounding me in all directions, is really what made me fall in love with Miami. With absolutely zero cares in that moment, I could only imagine the life I could live in Magic City because there was truly something magical there. Despite meeting almost everyone on that boat for the very first time, we had to most amazing time laughing, chilling, and living our absolute best lives.
Sunday Scaries
After a jam-packed weekend in the sun, the girls’ trip was coming to an end. By the end of our trip, we had realized that we never made our way to the beach! So, to chase away the Sunday Scaries, we headed down to the beach for nap in the sun and a dip in aquamarine water. I wasn’t kidding with that aquamarine part; the water was SO blue. And, with the sun shining at full force, it was almost like it was glowing. For anyone needing a girls trip that has a little bit of everything, you need to put Miami on your destination list. Leave your woes and worries at home; bask in the Miami heat!
